Former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, social welfare minster Zubaida Jalal and secretaries have been summoned by standing committee of Senate chaired by Senator Anwar Baig in which they have been ordered to give answer on financial irregularities committed in Twana Pakistan Program.

Under this program, the process of providing food and medicines to 530,000 students was not completed. Zamurd Khan, Chairman of Baitul Mal further told that only 180 million out of 600 million had been used on food and medicines while rest of the amount was misused. Even there was no record of Rs. 420 million which was paid in cash instead of cheque. It was also briefed that Shazia, daughter of Senator Kulsoom Perveen was hired at salary of Rs. 5,000 for this purpose but after two months, it was increased to Rs. 40,000. It was told that Zubaida Jalal had spent Rs. 3.6 million only on mineral water while Ferdous Jamal, a TV artist was given Rs. 25 million for advertisements of Twana Pragoramme.

So, Shaukat Aziz, Zubaida Jalal, Shazia, Ferdous Jamal and others have been asked to clarify such kind of irregularities on 23^rd of this month.
