Over 40 people have been killed in a suicide attack in Mariott Hotel Islamabad today and several other injured have been reported as well. An explosive vehicle carrying 1000 kgs explosive material, collided with the main gate of Mariott Hotel when an Iftar dinner party was going on in which many prominent figures were the participants. Sources have confirmed that several parts of the hotel are on fire.

ll dead and injured have been shifted to PIMS hospital, Polyclinic and Capital Hospital. Danish Diplomat and three other US citizens have also been injured and shifted to Capital Hospital. According to Interior Minsiter, security is put on high alert across the country.

This incident occurred after few hours of speech of the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari.
