Security Council consisting of 15 members urged Iran to suspend its uranium enrichment program. US and its European allies have decided for tougher sanctions against Iran but they are getting resistance from Russia and China.

Secretary of United States, Condoleeza Rice said in her meeting with Iranian counterpart Marat Tazhin, “We had only sought a resolution that would affirm the unity of the six, and to let the Iranians know that that unity is very strong and that we’ll be moving forward.”

Israel and many other western countries have accused Iran that its nuclear program is being used for nuclear arms. While on the other hand, Iran has rejected all these baseless allegations stating that its nuclear program is peaceful and aims to generate electricity only.

Sources have reported that US has recently deployed anti-missile radar in Israel which will monitor incoming ballistic missiles from Iran. This radar with a range of over 2000 kilometers will be operated by 120 permanent US army staff.
