China has canceled to exchange senior level visits and army contacts with USUS Patriot Missile over arms sale deal of $6.4 billion to Taiwan which was announced by US Major Stewart Upton last week. This deal includes US made weapons like 330 Patriot missiles, 30 Apache helicopters, 31 Harpoon missiles and 182 Javelin anti tank missiles.

US official said that China’s protest against this deal would not effect the negotiations going on with China on Iran and North Korea’s nuclear program.

Chinese Foreign Ministry has termed this act of selling weapons to Taiwan as “a serious violation” of the dialogues between China and US. China’s officials further said that China would also not take part in exchanging humanitarian issues and disaster relief with US.
