President Zardari launched Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) of Rs. 34 billion on Thursday and distributed
cheques among the deserving people at Aiwan e Sadr. Under BISP, such families will be paid Rs. 2,000 after every two months who have monthly income less than Rs. 6,000.
He said that Pakistan was not a limited company and would not go towards bankruptcy. He has further explained that Pakistan’s nuclear assets can’t fall in the hands of terrorists and we are not afraid of terrorists.
President Zardari urged the business community not to believe in the rumors of bankruptcy and freezing foreign currency accounts which was being spread all over Pakistan. He also assured that government had been taking effective measures to control economic crises on war footing.
