Obama has selected Sonal Shah as a member of advisory board consisting of 15 members to prepare technology policy. 40 years old Sonal Shah is an eminent economist and has been leading Google.org to define global development strategy since 2007. She has also worked closely with Larry Brilliant, Executive Director of Google to guide in global economic development efforts.

It is generally believed that Sonal Shah is engaged with Hindu extremist parties Vishva Hindu Parshad (VHP) and Rashtriya Swayamsavek Sangh (RSS) which were involved in massacring over 2000 Muslims in Gujrat and starting campaign against the killing of Christians of Orrissa, India. Muslims community in America are protesting her to fire from this post.

Sonal Shah has also worked in the Clinton administration’s Treasury Department and National Security Council for seven years.
