Three-member bench of Supreme Court (SC) has declared ineligible to SharifNawaz Sharif Ineligible brothers for contesting elections in two-line short order notice today. After this disqualification, Shahbaz Sharif is no more Chief Minister of Punjab.

Ahsan Iqbal of PML (N) has said that decision of ineligibility has pushed Pakistan on the path of confrontation and has termed it a conspiracy against democracy. Aitzaz Ahsan told the media that decision was unlawful and would affect the country’s political situation badly. While Athar Minullah said on this occasion that this verdict was expected as judiciary was not independent. Tehreek e Insaaf head, Imran Khan has also commented that judiciary is not independent and rulers will continue to impose their own decisions in country.

Strong protests have been recorded in the various parts of country against Sharif brothers’ ineligibility case. Sources have also told that all MNA of PML (N) are likely to resign in next 24 hours. Governor of Punjab Salman Taseer has also taken the charge of Punjab Province as a Chief Executive.
