(APP)‑ The funeral prayers of seven police officials,who embraced martyrdom while fighting during the terrorist attack on Police training centre Munawan, was offered here Tuesday at the Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh.

Governor Punjab Salman Taseer,PPP leader and Federal Industries & Production Minister Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo,Chief Secretary Punjab Najeebullah Malik, Inspector General Police Punjab (IGP) Khawaja Khalid Farooq,Special Home Secretary Azam Suleman, CCPO Lahore Haji Habib‑ur‑Rehman,PPP leader Pir Nazim Hussain Shah, relatives of the martyred police personnel and senior police officers attended the Namaz‑e‑Janaza.

The names of martyred police personnel are : Amir Munir (Kasur) ,Muhammad Ilyas (Rahim Yar Khan),Ghulam Mohi‑ud‑Din, Drill Instructor Rahim Yar Khan),L’aal Khan, Drill Instructor (Jhang), Abid Hussain Son of Akbar Ali (Gujrat),Rafiq‑ur‑Rehman (Okara),Rohail Fayyaz Son of Muhammad Fayyaz (Gulshan‑e‑Ravi Lahore). Their coffins were wrapped in the national and police flags.

After the prayers,the police presented guard of honour to the martyred officials who sacrificed their lives for a noble cause.
